Endurance Land purchased the site with an existing planning consent for a 101 bedroom hotel. We believed that the development could be enhanced to provide additional rooms within the envelope of the proposed building. We submitted a new planning application and a more intensive scheme totaling 189 bedrooms was granted consent.

Development of a first class asset

The redevelopment has completely repositioned the property, greatly enhancing the existing site outlook and immediate surroundings. It marked the end to a remarkable story of central London development, having tackled the major challenges that exist on such a constrained site with such limited access.

The site’s location, close to Liverpool Street, Spitalfields Market and the bustle of Brick Lane, together with its highly innovative and technically evolved specification are likely to ensure its success as the perfect hotel for the 21st century traveller, including the world’s only hotel rooms that can be controlled from an apple watch.
