Endurance Land secure planning on Farrringdon car park

Endurance Land and partners Whitbread have secured planning permission for a mixed use redevelopment of the NCP car park on Farringdon Road in the London Borough of Islington. The planning consent presents the opportunity to demolish the existing multi storey car park to develop a part five, part six storey building comprising office, retail and a 180 bedroom hotel.

The proposed development has been designed by Sheppard Robson architects in a contemporary way to ensure that the building blends into the urban context of Farringdon Road. The exterior will feature concertinaed and perforated zinc cladding, pre cast reconstituted stone and extensive glazing. The new property will activate the existing dormant frontages and act to enliven a significant stretch of the street.

Farringdon Road is an evolving micro location in Clerkenwell which is benefiting from regeneration and development along the entire length of its arterial route. The site is located 500m from Farringdon station; a key transport hub in Mid Town and soon to play host to the new Elizabeth Line (Crossrail).
